The intimacy of the wounded body

Date

2014

In a society where the body is put forward, where the beauty of women and men in fashion is a "perfect" and smooth beauty, I want to show the flaws of a flesh that is not smooth, not retouched and find a new form of intimacy, with the body wounded by the events of life. This body opposes the public representation of women and men in fashion as objects of desire. The initial idea was to show the flesh in all its details, to find it in its raw state. Finally, by photographing real bodies that posed for me, I changed my way of photographing them: less like flayers and more as a source of inspiration. Of course, the body remained cut out by the frame, but the intimate was privileged. For me, the act of cutting out was a way of gently entering the body and approaching this intimate space that we never reach.
